Irshad Manji has already been dubbed ‘Osama’s worst nightmare’...

United States President George W. Bush is Osama's worst nightmare. It's not this lipstick dyke that has Osama on the run.

This lady better get a Kevlar neck brace for protection. She's bound to get the Islamic sacrament of beheading from these terrorists or their supporters.

OK.
My weekly admission of limited ignorance:

What's a "lipstick lesbian"?

One might have said the same of the Christian faith at one time.

I'm with most around here on the dangerousness of Islam, but I reject the notion that the solution is to 'kill them all'

That may be the short-term solution, and it makes sense in so much as a reflexive reaction to the usual PC "we all know the overwhelming majority of muslims are peaceful" BS that retards our efforts. BUT, I've had this theory over the past few years... basically how the 'information age' impacts on every aspect.

The "first election" of the information age... the 'first new years'.. the 'first war'.. the 'first popular revoution', etc...

Most of these things are events that have occured before, but the majority were oblivious to them (at least in real-time). With the information access we have today it puts a strange new spin on some old stories.

I don't mean to trivialize, but I would think that Islam at least has a chance to 'reform' and resolve the issues with changing sociatial norms and the modern age.

Words like 'if you reject the teachings, you reject the relgion'... I'm sure were spoken by Catholics (which I am, complete with 12yrs of private schooling) back when Vatican II was going on.

In my humble opinion Islam consists of 15% Islamo-facists (I know thats alot of bodies), 25% (growing to perhaps 50% in 2-4yrs, was < 10% on 9-11) that are willing to actively fight against Islamo-terror and speak out and ACTIVELY do things to oppose that interpretation of Islam, and a whopping 60% that are (what I have termed) 'sufficnetly apathetic' to say "its not right" but not really care enough, or be afraid to, do anything about it.

Its that last number that can swell with Isamic Reformists, and I don't think thats something that should be written off.

Some people around here get waaaaaaaaay carried away with the 'towel-head' comments and 'no peace until they are all dead' tripe, and it disgusts me.

My initial reaction is that its just people OVERcompenstating for the PC and MSM response which is always 'too weak' by being 'too strong'.

People are right when they say Islam is largely 'stuck in the dark ages', I just don't see why anyone other than the terrorists would seek to keep it there.

A lipstick lesbian is a woman who dresses like a woman (not like a lumberjack) and looks and acts feminine, but is sexually attracted to women.

No offense, but why didn't you aim that rhetoric at some of the people who were making fun of her? All Ivan said was "Interesting."
