Immigration worries Republicans
The Washington Times ^ | 7/16/2005 | Stephen Dinan

Republican congreesional members' constituents care more about immigration and border security than any othe issue, according to a new congressional insiders poll.

Seventeeen of the 37 Republican House and Senate members who responded to the National Journal's survey identified immigration as the issue "most on the minds of your consituents these days." That easily topped the next closest issue, the economy, which gained 10 votes, followed by gasoline prices with four votes and terrorism with threee votes.

One Republican called immigration the "highest-octane issue in America," while another said, "It is here that the mismatch between the federal government's inaction and the realities at home is the greatest."

Rep. Tom Tancredo, the Colorado Republican who runs the House Immigration Reform Caucus, has said other members of Congress have come up to him recently and said immigration is a dominant issue when they return home for recess periods.

'snip'

Of 25 Democratic members of Congress who responded, just two mentioned immigration as the top issue for constituents....

Well, if you have blinders on and your only worried about one issue(immigration), I guess you could justify it...?
Well, considering illegal immigration touches on other issues like crime, welfare, terrorism, the economy, etc., it's not just one small little issue like all the rest.

You know what...it's a start, and Congressman Hunter isn't sitting around waiting for the Administration to begin construction.

Check out some of the pictures. No one is going to cross a fence designed like that. Now, if every district lobbied for the same thing to be done, could you imagine the possibilities?

LOL!

Today I was at my local McDonald - once run by Americans, by today mostly, if not all, by Mexicans - and when my turn to order came, the Mexican girl asks: "May I have you?" What she meant was: "May I help you?"

Deport! Deport them NOW!

And stay out!

I agree with you to a point.

In Los Angeles we've seen flyers, T-shirts, spray painting on walls referring to Atzlan. They seem to be associated with "The National Council of La Raza", probably all the same bunch. There's also MECHA and LULAC, both organizations pushing for "immigrant rights" (meaning illegal aliens).

Their members are actually elected into city councils because of the huge hispanic population, and L.A. just elected a mayor with MECHA ties. He seems like an OK guy, but people are holding their breath waiting to find out what his policies will be.

"Well, considering illegal immigration touches on other issues like crime, welfare, terrorism, the economy, etc., it's not just one small little issue like all the rest."

In addition, illegal immigration also brings:

1. a massive subculture of unassimilated aliens inside the country.

2. a mass of millions and millions of poorly-educated aliens that speak a different language.

3. a different culture and different values.

4. loyalty to a country other than the United States of America.

5. the enemy within our borders.

A little off thread here, I saw some stuff in Freepland a week or so ago about the new mayor in LA.

Apparently, Cardinal Mahoney let them use the Cathedral for some type of ecumenical "all rivers flow to the stream" ceremony. I saw some pics with Mahoney yucking it up with a bunch of pro-abortionists at the event.

Big Ben is not going to be all that happy about this when the digital pics touch down in Rome.

Mahoney isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, nor is he very respected here among my Catholic friends.

Add to that list "Health." Without the immunization system we have, many illegals bring with them communicable/infectious diseases we no longer have and may no longer immunize ourselves for as they have been eradicated years ago. They could literally be a walking biological WMD.

I gather as much about Mahoney. I think the days of cultural appeasement have come to an end for the Princes of the Church!

Well, it's late here in the Free State. God Bless all of you California conservatives! Seems like a lonely job to me, but you all seem to remain the staunchest of the staunch.

Buenos Noches.

I said that I agree to a point. But not to that point where I'd remove my hand because it had a mole on it. I'd rather remove the mole and still have the same functionality that may hand has always done.

(ILLEGAL) Immigration into my neighborhood was why I moved. That is my number one issue for sure.
