"Arabs have never been known to be honourable and are better known for their treacheries and inhumanity."

Was Saladin the exception to this rule? Just asking as I was reading some history last night.

If you want to read of Suliman and other Muslim conquerers, get Will Durant's volume 6 on "The Reformation" from his History of Civilization series. In Chapter 9, he chronicles The Ottoman Tide, and it will open your eyes as to what the wahabi Muslims have in mind for the West today. As one reads how the feckless kings and governments of Europe were laid waste, with the exception of brave little Serbia, Bosnia, and Hungary who at least tried to resist before being overwhelmed, one is sadly reminded of how not much has changed. At least in those days, Christians weren't so ignorant as to believe Islam was a peaceful religion. Today we are told that fiction by everyone from the President on down. If we don't know history, we are bound to repeat it.

***My statement is a broad generalization in context of world history. Saladin is an exception to the "rule" within my stated generalization's historical scope. I have no doubt there are noble Arab leaders who Westerners have never heard about. I do know that Arabs have a very long history of being proficient slave traders - not all Arabs, mind you. Certainly, Arabs have the distinction of developing from ancient times the most perfectly beautifully conformed horses - the Arabian horse breed. But, not all Arabs were into the selective breeding of horses. Some had great herds of pack camels - a beast of burden whose asthetic beauty and good disposition have yet to evolve.

There is mythic romance in literary depictions of traditional nomadic tribes surviving harsh desert environments and the exciting conglomoration at colorful bazaars.

Some while ago, I read one of the most interesting fictional books in the entire world of excellent fiction. I believe the title was "The Sorjourner" (sp?) and I highly recommend reading that book. Sometimes fiction gives us better history.

I dont' want to be a broken record to anyone that knows my view on ethanol, or bore anyone not famillar with it, but the precarious position our energy situation is with relation to the middle east, we need to either with gaining the means to replace it for ourselves, or by sacrificing and forcing ourselves to conserve/ration or just pay more (really all three are about the same), we need to force the middle east to abandon terrorism. Here's how we do it.. Not buy any of their oil, or allow it to leave the region. Starve the mohammedan into submission.. If I were Bush, any more attacks where any American is killed anywhere (besides Iraq or Afghanistan, I guess could legitimately be considered fair game--we went in afterall) in a terrorist strike, be it a dual citizenship Israeli-American in Tel Aviv, or an attack in the Phillipines on tourists, or in Bali, etc, we NUKE MECCA and MEDINA!!!

These “experts” also seem to believe that this split between so-called “moderate” Muslims and the Islamic terrorists is something new. These “experts” have missed the mark by about 1300 hundred years.

Wow, that's a long time! ;o)

Those who have turned a blind eye to Israel's plight with scornful disdain are now tasting a bit of the terrorist-in-our-backyard, and they don't like it one bit. Oooops! See what PC, "tolerance," and diversity hath wrought? This slay-the-infidels rhetoric has been ongoing for centuries. Handwringing isn't going to solve much, I guarantee it.

All one needs to know about Islam is presented in the very name, Islam, itself. Islam is not the "religion of peace" and the latest mantra among the leftist and stupid seems to be. Islam is exactly what it says it is: the Religion of SUBMISSION.

The word Islam means "submission" and that is what the religion and the Islamic culture is all about. It is easily seen in the prayer rituals - with muslims being forced to kiss the ground 5 times a day to show how totally insignificant they are and how they must always bend to the will of Allah.

Yes, there are many, many strange aspects of Islam that serve to prove its total incompatibility with the modern world - such as the lack of any joyous holidays, the use of a totally lunar calendar that bears no relation to the solar year (on which all of modern society is founded), the lack of any days of rest,... - but just the name of the ideology is all one needs to know, to understand what threats are posed by its adherents.
