In the very long run, I think the most important governor's race will be right here in OHIO, because if Blackwell wins (and does well, as I think he will), he will be a MAJOR player for the presidency quite soon. He could be the USA's first black president.

He could be the USA's first black president. Can't be. Already had our first Black President.

Isn't it true though that Blackwell has been badly damaged by the Noe scandal?
To: LS
I would take Kasich too....
To: republicanwizard
Not at all. He's leading in all polls among Republicans---by a pretty good margin---and most people don't even know what this "scandal" is. Blackwell's only problem at this point is $$.

We need Kasich to run against DeWine or Voino. Blackwell MUST be supported for Gov. He's an up and comer, and absolutely perfect on the social and economic issues.

Isn't it true though that Blackwell has been badly damaged by the Noe scandal?I would think the Auditor and Attorney General (who are also running) would have more exposure to the Taft scandals than the Secretary of State, just by virtue of their positions.

Another race to watch:
CEO Bob Vander Plaats against House Budget Chairman Jim Nussle for the Republican gubernatorial primary in Iowa. Vander Plaats is the true conservative.

Florida is up for grabs in '06. If Katherine Harris runs against Bill Nelson for US Senate it'll energize the RATS. We'd still win, however. Harris was promised full support if stepped aside in '04 and now it is apparent she's been backstabbed by the power structure and the White House. I think she'd be awesome. ANYBODY but Gun Grabber Nelson.

In the very long run, I think the most important governor's race will be right here in OHIO... But that's next year right? Just to clarify, the Virginia and New Jersey races are this year.

Kasich for Senate. Blackwell for Governor.
Of course, but if Blackwell can't possibly win for some unknown reason....
I was just saying Kasich is another option for Governor. Besides I don't know if he WANTS to go back to DC in the first place.

couldn't tell ya honestly...
I don't think I have watched his show more than a dozen times. I will ask my parents who have watched it all the time...

I like Blackwell too, but he will have a lot of work to do in northeast Ohio, where the MSM tries to demonize him at every turn. You never see Blackwell's name in the Cleveland or Akron papers without the word "controversial" in the same sentence. Hopefully Blackwell will have enough support in Columbus, Cincinnati, and rural Ohio to offset northeast Ohio.

The dimwits still have a govenorship here in GA. Sonny Perdue may have recently put an R behind his name but he is still a democrat at heart. I just hope the Republicans find someone to run against him next year, or I am fairly certain the democrats will again recapture Georgia. I for one will never again vote for Purdue, I may not vote for the democrat, but I will NOT vote for him.
