The reason its going to "take decades" is because the American people are to uncomfortable with what it would take to end terrorism.
1)Shut our borders down 100%.
2)Not allow ANY Muslims immigrate legally for 30 years
3)Encircle Iraqi oil fields with US troops
4)Send special ops to kill those who advocate the killing of westerners.
5)Send special ops into Pakistan and Saudi Arabia whether they like it or not.

In this column, Robert Klein Engler says that in the end......probably after an appalling attack which could kill millions of Americans......we will absolutely have to deport ALL Muslims, ban Islam from America altogether, and "build a fence around Muslim countries" to contain these barbarians.

The article is very profound, as I always expect from Engler's work.

Now that sounds like a winning plan. And that's all I want is to win; to have the lives that have been sacrificed to have been to a purpose.

I believe you are correct. Most Americans do not have the stomach for a decisive war, but will endure a protracted one that gains nothing.

If we do not settle this conflict decisively, its only a matter of time before we are hit again. The next time they will accomplish their goal of killing tens of thousands of Americans. And all of this fighting now and the lives sacrificed will have been for naught.

I have to ask why TERRORIST attacks in Iraq are not treated as being significant compared to a missing girl in Aruba, Michael Jackson, and other news stories that crowd the airwaves. We are in a war on terror and Iraq is supposed to be the front line. We have daily updates on the attacks in London and great expressions of sympathy for the victims, but nothing beyond the daily sum of deaths of civilians in Iraq

We need to show the same solidarity with the people of Iraq. They are dying on a daily basis with little acknowledgement on our part. Where is the moment of silence at the New York Stock Exchange for any one of the terrorist attacks on innocents in Iraq?

Some have said that the attacks have received too much attention and overshadowed good news. I think there has not been nearly enough coverage.

Well, since you were speaking for our soldiers and inserting your own (wrong headed) political views into what soldiers want, I thought I'd correct what you said in accordance with the facts.

The soldiers' families you know are in the minority of military families. Most of us are very proud of what our sons and daughters have done in this very just cause.

And btw, we are winning, whether you realize it or not.

On one report, I heard that the suicider deliberately set off his bomb next to the tanker. Another report said that the bomber "accidentally" set off his device before he had reached his intended target, which apparently wasn't the tanker.........so I don't think that the tanker driver could have been part of a "double whammy" plot, but it's only conjecture on my part.
