What if someone in the CIA was leaking classified information to influence the 2004 election? Uncovering a crime like that would be worthy of Inspector Javert's doggedness.
I suspect the biggest shoe in this case has yet to drop, and liberal journalists won't be happy when it does.

Yes, I agree. Just about once a week, from all appearances, a small cabal of MSM bosses get together with operatives from the DNC and influential Democrats in the senate to plot out the coming months' propaganda exercises.
They did it most memorably with the Enron scandal, which they tried to make into Bush's Watergate. They did it with Bush's national guard service. They did it with maybe several hundred other manufactured scandals, such as the weaponsgate scandal broken by the NY Times right before the election.
This was clearly another such plot, in which Wilson was assigned by these people to use his wife in the CIA to go to Africa as a "CIA agent" and bring back a report to be given heavy publicity that Bush lied about Saddam's WMDs.
This failed, because Wilson was caught in a series of lies. But they revived it recently in a desperate effort to get Rove.
I don't honestly know if the prosecutor is pursuing this these treasonous cabals, or if he will cover them up the way they have helped cover up many of the clintons' other crimes. It could go either way, since Bush and Rove are both stunningly clever political operators but also both have a record of shielding the clintons from investigation. Stay tuned.
Interesting story!
bttt
I think Kelly's on target. If this is what it seems to be... it stinks to high-heaven.
Very interesting!
"The last two paragraphs go a long way in explaining where this investigation is heading, IMHO."
Man, that would be great. Wouldn't it?
Unfortunately, call me pessimistic, but intent would be pretty hard to prove. And if it gets anywhere near that, the media will simply bury the story.
Oh well...
Intersting theory...

You may be right and what is especially important is that Kelly has been GIVEN this clue, I doubt it feel from heaven. What if someone pointed him in the right direction. Could be that CIA people may be in for some big trouble and Wilson's wife goes down in Plames.
Looks like we all agree that, at it's basis, this entire media driven "scandal" is just a cover for the REAL crime..........leftist moles in the CIA leaking classified info. to hurt the Bush administrations WOT efforts. The question is why, and I believe it is all tied in with the Oil For Food scam.
Yep...........Val, aka Agent 99, is up to her eyeballs in this her OWN self.
BINGO
Also as an aside, Cooper waited until the last day possible to disclose his "source." I believe he knew all along that he had the authority to do so, but when it came time to choose jail or compromise his "principles", he ran like a scared rabbit.
If Cooper were a manly man, he should at least write Rove a thank you letter for giving him the correct information about who authorized Wilson's trip, and for being considerate enough to sign a release of confidentiality. I don't think it will happen though. Cooper wears panties.
OK, what am I missing:
"The law defines a "covert agent" as someone working undercover overseas, or who has done so in the last five years. Ms. Plame had operated under non-official cover, but was outed by CIA traitor Aldrich Ames, and has been manning a desk at CIA headquarters since 1997."
The story broke in 2003. 1997 + 5 = 2002. "Covert" means many things, but for the purpose of a defense to prosecution, for this law, she wasn't overseas and hadn't been for 5 years. So there was no crime. It's too simple, this is why I got a "B" in Biz Law, I suppose.
The CIA is riddled with lefties, and always will be, IMHO.
Good post..............rogue elements have been undermining this administration since it's inception.
Unlocked thread bump!
Thanks!
This is an excellent post! I was surprised to see it was in The Toledo Blade. I know one of the editors there, and he is very liberal and not someone I have any respect for!

Somewhere in the middle of this entire story...is Judith Miller. And its curious her dedication to go to jail rather than tell the trail of her story. Novak didn't really hesitate...although he may not have told 100 percent of his story yet. It would be curious to ask Novak if he ever had any dealings with Miller...and if he hesitates...there is some type of trail then. And one other curious question...what kind of stories has Judith had in the past? Is she a strong Clinton-supporter? Its a strange case because no reporter would ever fall on their sword to protect GW or his staff...and this leads to wondering about her trail. And ask this final question...if she was onto a story, and did all of the research...talked to sources...had the story in her hand...why would she not tell the story? This is the strange part about the entire episode. If you had one of the top 20 stories of the year in your hands...why wouldn't you tell it?
This is really good.
