There is no legal problem for Rove...Reporters in Washington have a gleam in their eye and smiles on their faces, and there's a reason for it...Pat Fitzgerald hasn't been digging for two years and judges haven't been sending reporters to jail because they don't have anything...

That's the problem with these open-ended special prosecutor investigations. They go on and on and on, chew up boatloads of taxpayer dollars, and rarely result in anything remotely worthwhile. Rarely is the core charge ever substantiated. Special prosecutors are not held accountable for their own activites and the proceedings are not transparent. So secrecy and selective leaks from those involved or caught up in the investigation create a climate of rampant speculation, often destroying the lives and careers of people who are innocent of any wrongdoing.

So does anyone know if there is a deadline for Fitzgerald to wrap things up, or will he just continue with this investigation for the rest of his natural life.

I read that Fitzgerald has to wrap up by October.

There's nothing to investigate. Plame, according to Wilson's book, returned to the U.S. 6 years before she was "outed." The law clearly states that she had to be overseas and undercover within the previous 5 years to be covered under this statute. Bush, Powell, Novak and the entire press corps could have stood on a busy streetcorner with bullhorns shouting `Plame is a spy,' and they would not have violated this law. So reading some memo about her could not possibly have been any sort of violation.

Buchannon and the entire MSM are idiots!!!

The Grand Jury expires in October, if I'm right, they are the ones who are onto something and the special prosecutor is interested in what they are pursuing.

I think there WILL be indictments coming out of this, but if I were the media, I wouldn't be running around with smiles on my face because they just not might like where those indictments go.
