Of Taxes and 'Treason' Michigan's governor explodes after reading The Wall Street Journal.

Never say we aren't willing to help an editorial subject in distress, and Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm clearly needs some friendly advice.
Last month the state legislature buried the Democratic Governor's top legislative priority, a grandiose proposal to raise taxes on insurance companies, banks and thousands of small businesses that private studies said would have cost up to 20,000 jobs. Ms. Granholm's plan was widely criticized, including in these columns in March and in an op-ed article on the opposite page last Thursday by state legislator Rick Baxter, a Republican, and Hillsdale College Professor Gary Wolfram.
Ms. Granholm was not pleased, going so far as to denounce the op-ed as "treasonous for the state of Michigan." The authors' high crime? Exposing Michigan as a high tax state and criticizing Ms. Granholm for wanting to raise taxes. Her choice of words was no inadvertent slip of the tongue, by the way--a Howard Dean-like temporary loss of sanity. The Governor has used the "t" word repeatedly and has even suggested that Mr. Baxter "should be removed from office."

Its treason to oppose raising taxes. Liberalism in a nutshell .
She's a Canadian socialist, got elected gov of an American state by playing the 'honeychile' routine to the benefits crowd. She cares soooooooooooo much for everybody that she is detrimental to this state in every way imaginable, not just in the way this piece depicts.
Also from the article. Had she been educated in MI, she still wouldn't have learned it, MI schools are a disgrace, and Grandholms support for the MEA is making it worse.
How many more drooling Democrats are going to be elected in this country before the electorate FINALLY wake up to their idiocy, love of socialism, and hatred for "All Things Truly American"?????
I just don't get it. I really don't.
It's a pity she has gotten away with as much as she has. MI may have the highest unemployment rate in the nation, and yet she will probably get re-elected by the socialists here, unions, etc.
She has already spiked state 'fees' (they're not taxes you know) that have quadrupled in some cases.
She is also pushing state Internet taxes.
I remember her bawling on the stage during a Kerry campaign speech - it remains the most disgusting image of her I can think of.
She grew up in California.
I knew that, the WSJ blamed her ignorance of American History on her being Canadian. I just pointed out that she wouldn't have learned any more if she had been schooled in MI, and that our schools are getting worse on her watch.
Looking forward to getting a new govenor in office... Go Devos!!!
Hooray for Rick Baxter and Gary Wolfram.
Freakin' socialist. She's from Canada, whatta expect?
Actually, isn't The Nuge going to make a run next year for Gov?
Wow, I would deff vote Mr. Nugent into office, lol...
Ohhhh Fred Bear....
that would be awesome

They all blame Bush for Michigan's ills. When I point out that most states are seeing a booming economy and that Granholm is responsible for the economic health of Michigan, they just get angry and stomp off in a huff. They get even angrier when I point out the Detroit Democrat thought process and how it extrapolates to the Governor.
Socialists, one and all.....
