DALLAS, N.C., July 15 - For the second day in a row, Karl Rove was at President Bush's side in a highly public appearance on Friday, a signal that Mr. Bush continues to support him as the political pressure mounts over Mr. Rove's role in discussing an undercover C.I.A. officer with reporters.

We see it every day... 24/7.
Only on FOXNews, Limbaugh, Ingraham and the Internet is the truth ever revealed. The MSM/DNC alliance is the biggest threat to our Republic since communism.

The "jailbird" reporter is Judith Miller. Perhaps you are thinking of Elisabeth Bumiller, also of the NYT.

This so-called "scandal" is ultimately making the Democrats look like foooools. Must be the work of an "evil genius"--- a Mastermind:
Karl Rove.

No, I know the roles of the two reporters. I want the author of this story, to not be so mum, to open up about the oozing sleaze in the press corps.
To: newconhere
Political pressure? What? Some Democrat Senators are calling for measures against Rove, so yes, there is political pressure. Bwahahahahaha.

What mounting political pressure is the NYT referring too?

If it's in the Times, I don't believe it. Have to get independent verification that Rove was with Bush.
As Pukin Dog pointed out the other day, the real target is Bush. The rabid Rove accusers want Bush impeached. So don't laugh at them too much, because they will probably try it.

It's the product of a compromised MSM and the failure of America to address it!

It is unclear if Mr. Rove's actions meet the legal requirements that make disclosure of an undercover agent a crime.... Actually, it appears to me that the answer to that one is quite clear, even if it isn't what the NYT wants it to be.
To: johnny7; All
The NYT itself published a mis-headlined story yesterday that exonerated Karl Rove, essentially stating that Rove was informed by reporters of Plame's status, and that KR had simply said to Cooper "Yeah, I heard that, too."
Remember the feeling you had when you concluded that the TANG memos were indeed fake and Dan Rather's days as a liberal propagandist were over? Conjure that feeling back up; we are at the end of this story; the Plame Blame Game is about to disappear before it backfires onto the liberal media.

From the article:
"On Friday, Democrats kept up a drumbeat of criticism." This is a bit over-stated. Most democrat talking heads have lowered the noise level of their anti Rove rants with, "well even if Rove isn't going to be charged with a crime...blah blah blah". But even with that lowering of their expectations, democrats are doing us a favor with their anti-Rove rhetoric. In all the polls, Americans are tired of this stuff, and I think democrats are going to pay dearly in the 2006 elections.

The prosecutor needs a perp and if he can't get a indictment on the original charge, he'll get one on a perjury or obstruction charge.

This story is over, but that doesn't stop the Democrats from calling for a "complete investigation". It's impossible to embarass a Democrat. Don't expect any of them to apologize when their statements are proven to have been wrong.
To: TheGeezer
I completely agree! I thought I was the only one that had that deja vu feeling all over again...obviously the White House will not have an official comment while the investigation continues, but, Karl Rove knows what he told the Grand Jury and whether or not it was true or false. But for a moment, let's say he lied or did something else egregious, I am convinced for both his loyalty to the President and just plain smart politics, he would have left right after the election for "personal or health reasons" so this incident would not become a huge negative for the President.
Well, here they are, smiling, saying "can't comment" and I'm betting that SOMEONE's being investigated and the Administration is pretty sure it ain't someone significant...so, we shall see...I don't know where this will all go, hell, according to all the info, Plame was not under cover in the last 5 years...so is the crime something else against someone else...hmmmm
To: newconhere
Political pressure? What? These people need meds.
They don't have an IQ to understand that W. and his splendid architect Rove have fooled them better than any 1st.April!!!

How long before John Conyers holds another impeachment non- committee committee meeting in the House basement? Maybe this time they can get matching tables. Those mismatched tables at the last meeting were embar-ass-ing.
