The book is great, but India has a prime minister, not a president. I'm not paranoid, the jab on the first page was obvious and it is not a plot spoiler to tell you this reference had absolutely zip to do with the story. The president is never mentioned again.

I'm not making this into more than what it is, but I certainly have an opinion as to why she did it.

India does have a President; it's just not the highest office.
