From CBS News (via Drudge):
Each copy of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is 672 pages long and weighs 2.2 pounds. But this is not the
longest book - that was "Order of the Phoenix," which was
896 pages long.

Large type, short sentences.

Here's all you need to know: Snape is the half-blood prince and he kills Dunbledore.

To be honest, I had no interest in either watching the movies, or reading the books. I was completely hooked on the Lord of the Rings movies when the first HP movie came out. And I was simply far to busy to read any of the HP books.

But one night I was extremely bored, and the only thing to watch on TV was the first HP movie. Well, I watched it, and I loved it. From that point on, I was hooked. I decided to read the first book, and I was amazed: As terrific as the movie was, the book was so much better! I've found that to be the case with all 3 of the movies and books so far. The books really are terrific.

If you don't read, my friend, then you give victory to
the liberal educational philosophy that says the dumber
the nation is, the easier it is to destroy its character and
lead it in our direction.

Oh! What did they do, write in wretched man on all 15 million of the first release copies?

Must'a had an army of staff writers working around the clock on the first page to include such current events!

Get a life!

Since the last book was about the between-WW-era, and the PM was Chamberlain at the time, one supposes that the "wretch" was FDR.

There--that's better, right?

OpinionJournal carried the piece which VERY solidly makes the case that the "Phoenix" book was all about Chamberlain, Churchill, and Hitler--with Hitler being the "bad guy" character...

Assuming that no one else here has read the book..... the leader is Cornelius Fudge, Ministry of Magic, NOT the president of the US, France, or any other country.....

the British Prime Minister awaiting a phone call from the "President" of an unnamed distant country, and wondering when the "wretched man" would call.

If you think about it it's a shot at both of them

Tony Blair don't think that way about President Bush either !
