Kasich promises to bring Rats into the government if he's elected. Can someone explain this to me? Is there a smart strategy here, or is he just a typical Republican nice-guy milquetoast?

I heard Kasich speak a couple of years back. This was after he was out of Congress.

One of the things he complained about was the atmosphere in Washington. He specifically mentioned the new Republicans after 1994 who he said refused to talk to any Democrat at all in Washington. Kasich mentioned he had friends across the aisle and that he tried to work with them and maintain a cordial relationship with them.

I find nothing wrong with trying to be friendly and trying to work with people. That's fine. However, the Democrats in Ohio have shown it's all about power. There is no working with Republicans in their opinion, and Kasich needs to understand that. These folks in the General Assembly are mostly the new Sherrod Brown, Marcy Kaptur, Stephanie Tubbs Jones, and Dennis Kucinich. One of the Democrat gubernatorial candidates, Columbus Mayor Mike "Don't Question My Manhood" Coleman called President Bush a "virus" during the campaign last year. Kasich needs to understand this. Remember in 2000 when George W. Bush said he wanted to change the tone in Washington. All the Democrats have done is block, deny, and filibuster. They have compared him to Hitler, called him a miserable failure, and a virus.

I have lived in Columbus my whole life and I like John Kasich a lot. He always was a leader for this area and he took no crap. He stood for this area and stood for what he believed in. Many people, myself included, have a tremendous amount of respect for the guy.

I believe he is wrong when he thinks he can work with Democrats. Maybe he can prove me wrong. I wish the best to him.
