Had a project a couple of years ago in Waterford, NY
The Stars and Bars were displayed on my truck and I had several folks ask me what country's flag that was.

They might, I repeat might, just pick up on the 2nd and 3rd National Flags.
Most of the Western and Trans-Mississippi blue based battle flags would also float on by without a second glance.
National and battle flags were not one and the same for the southern side.
