You remember that Ken Burns started off with all those shots of poor slaves....had quite a few in there. The very next picture was of Ft. Sumter being bombarded. What a fitting effect....slaves used as a segue into war. Gives it a nice rationalization.....very smooth of Mr. Burns, don't you think?

Why Doris, lying becomes you. As much as I realize that all y'all hate to be reminded that single most important reason for the southern rebellion was defense of slavery, your deliberate lying about the Burns documentary is not at all justified. There was a considerable amount of film between the shots of slaves and of Sumter. John Brown, the Lincoln election, Kansas, secession, all the rest. You must have gotten your hands on the Crown Books edited version.
