Well, if you're ever out my way I'll introduce you to my ex-mother-in-law who has a 4 foot statue of the Blessed Virgin(the Miraculous medal one) in the dining room, is a member of the Legion of Mary, and has a grotto with our Lady of Fatima statue in her garden, and I could go on. She prays to Mary every day. Many of her friends do the same.
As a matter of your persepective, that may seem like worship to you. To your perspective, only God should be "prayed to." I have a feeling, however, that your ex-mother-in-law, along with those like her, will tell you that Mary does nothing by herself. She doesn't have divine powers. She is still a creature. All is accomplished with God.
