Here is a Tancredo quote;
"I'm not so naive to think I'd be a huge threat to the nominee," Tancredo said. "(But) I am in a position to be influential in the process."
So I'll try again; he would only run to try and inject conservative ideas into the immigration/borders debate. Imagine that; a Republican nominee espousing conservative views on immigration instead of leftwing platitudes! That would be his purpose, not a delusional belief that he would actually get the nomination.
And again, he is not talking about preemptively using nukes, only responding with them if they are used on us first.
As I tried telling another here, the alliance with the Buchanans has to do primarily with immigration, and their views are much more mainstream than what we get from the White House. Tancredo in fact disagrees with Pat Buchanan over the war in Iraq, and the underlying causes of the war on terror.
But you should take heart; Colorado isn't as red as it used to be. Maybe a Democrat will knock Tancredo out of office next year. Then of course you'd have one more vote against tax cuts, the war in Iraq, Soc Sec reform, protecting marriage, banning partial birth abortion, etc. But it'd be worth it, right?
