Leeds University said el-Nashar arrived in October 2000 to do biochemical research, sponsored by the National Research Center in Cairo, Egypt. I should note that Leeds University, along with every other university in the UK, voted recently to suspend ties with Israeli universities. Therefore an Israeli national would not be eligible the sponsorship that el-Nashar benefited from.
Obviously the Israelis haven't been setting off enough bombs in London.
