Our government is more concerned with securing the borders of foreign lands than securing the borders of the United States

Actually, we haven't enough to secure Iraq's borders, either, which could be part of the reason so many foreign "insurgents" keep blowing up Iraqi kids and US soldiers.

Our legislators, the administration and the rest of the government drones are more interested in playing politics than actually protecting the country. That has been true for a long, long time.

American lives, families, and jobs are worth less than the fickle games of national and international politics. If that were not true, Mogadishu would still be a burnt plain of scorched ash, Fallujah would have been "retaken" by bombs not Marines, and a giant wall thick and wide enough to support a Bradley M3 Armored Vehicle would stretch the entire length of the US/Mexico border.

I'll bet Governator Schwarzenegger won't repeat the encouragement he gave the prior effort, beings he just got back from a meeting with Mexico's bordering Governors!!!
