Okay - I gotta ask the question [glad I still have nomex on], but does anyone really think this says what is being claimed?
In response to the question that Blitzer asked, it looks to me like he is saying "When we had our picture taken, my wife wasn't clandestine because she hadn't been since the day Novak outed her."
Just my read. I tend to think that the answer only means something in context of the question. YMMV.

I see - you are saying the key is SINCE he "outed" her - Wilson is suggesting that she was "clandestine agent" up to that point.

Apparently Plame's cover job for her covert activities was her position at Langley CIA headquarters. No other 'cover' has been put forth. Even Maxwell Smart would have had a better cover job than this.
"Who me, a spy? Why do you think that, I just work at the CIA. Excuse me. I have to answer my shoe."
