Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who has sponsored 527-reform legislation in the Senate, called the Pence-Wynn bill a joke.
Well, well mark him down as a maybe, Pence joked in response.

Well, well mark him down as a maybe, Pence joked in response.LOL. I'd love to see a debate between Pence and McCain even the moderates andindependents, who saw such a debate, would prefer the calm cool demeaner and wit of Pence to the demeaner of MCain IMHO.

Castle said the Pence-Wynn approach would roll back campaign-finance reform from the past few decades. Yeah, I guess that is one way to spin someone trying to fix bad legislation.

I'll give ya reform:
1. Lobby donations: Thrown out. persuasion by tears and groveling only
2. Corporate donations: Ban completely, their donations do not represent their employees, only the board and they are likely only looking for kick backs.
3. Private donations: $5,000 max. limit to each party, $2,500 max. limit to any individual candidate.
4. Since these are not non-profit org's no donations will be deductible.

"I will not support the [Pence-Wynn] bill, Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.), president of the Republican Main Street Partnership."
A fat-cat, RINO organization if ever there was one. No wonder he doesn't want to see an open market for ideas.

They either need to take all the money out of politics or just let it be open ended and let the candidates buy the office. That's what their doing now anyway.
