I think mob violence from certain elements will only lead to pitched battles being fought on the street. Will cause a lot of bloodshed on both sides (last time I heard, muslim gangs were waiting for an oppurtunity to be provoked).
A more effective way is to let it simmer down for a while, but gradually enforce stricter laws to tame these south Asian/middle eastern extremists.

Apparently they aren't the only ones, but they are the ones in a distinctly inferior strategic position. I'd say they should be careful what they wish for.

That is much better than a "war" where one side launches attack after attack while the other side sit quietly and allow themselves to be slaughtered without fighting back.
Maybe if Westerners start fighting back, the muslims will start leaving us alone.
