Joe Wilson has plenty of explaining to do himself. I don't think anyone was out to 'smear' Wilson, but I do think Wilson had an ulterior motive in wanting to 'smear' the Bush Administration and attempting to bring about the downfall of GWB. In this excerpt from the Vanity Fair article, Wilson was milking the story of her being exposed for all it was worth. He knew she was not a covert agent and yet he gave the impression she was with this type action: At the Nation award lunch Wilson wept openly on the podium as he looked his wife straight in the eye and declared, "If I could give you back your anonymity ... " He swallowed, unable to speak for a few seconds. "You are the most wonderful person I know. And I'm sorry this has been brought on you." Valerie Plame also teared up. The room was electrified. Moments later Wilson recovered. He concluded his remarks with the climax everyone had been waiting for. "Let me introduce you to my wife, Valerie," he said. I am so sick of hearing about her being exposed to danger etc. because someone identified her...she told Wilson on their third or fourth date who she was and what she did. She wasn't too concerned about keeping her identity a secret since she revealed it to her date who just happened to be a married man!!
I think it's time the Democrats were exposed for the liars they are, and the Wilson's repay the government for his trip to Niger which was set up by his wife!
Is that TRUE?!
You may have hit the mark about what is being investigated. Maybe something like impersonating a CIA Op or using a CIA Op to gain access to classified info?
She wanted her anonymity so bad she posed in a ridiculous Catherine Hepburn scarf and over-sized sunglasses. That's when I pinned this whole affair as a total joke. I'm sure alot of other people did too.
"WILSON: My wife was not a clandestine officer the day that Bob Novak blew her identity."
The WILSON's Pillow Talk
Valerie: You can do me tonight, I'm not clandestine.
Joe: .....something to do with viagra...
