NY TIMES CLAIMS EXCLUSIVE NEW DETAILS OF EVENTS SURROUNDING CIA LEAK, SOURCES TELL DRUDGE... DEVELOPING LATE OUT OF WASHINGTON... MORE...
George Tenet. Note Novak's reference to confirming Plame's identity with two government officials, one of whom could not be termed a partisan. Tenet was appointed by Bill Clinton. He mysteriously "resigned" last year, with little explanation as to the timing. Care to guess why?
... this is hilarious ... no way that deserves a siren ...
so rove heard from two separate reporters ... Novak and another reporter (most likely Miller) and the question is who told Miller --- if i recall she had close ties with the CIA WMD group --- perhaps it was someone in there
I Agree with your take. LOL.
Nathan, and these "reporters" don't have a clue what the GJ is up to, do they. Nor have they seen any "evidence" that any such conversations took place -- outside the "anon source" -- and what bits they can piece together between Novak and Rove. This just gets better and better.
So. Judith is in Jail -- (Save Our Valiant Journalistic Warrior!), and the Times is now offering up a newer ANON source (NY Times: We shall prevail! -- Call us "ANON SOURCE UNLIMITED!").
Yes, this is good news for Rove. Sounds like all the reporters were blabbing to each other and the guvvies.
Just a bit of anecdote here - I went to a local swim meet here in central Illinois to cheer my daughters. There were about 90 - 100 people there. In my listening in to what people were talking about, not once was the name Carl Rove mentioned. People in the flyover don't care one way or another about this. It's not even in their radar.
God, what a great picture.
thanks, I forgot. I self abused my post.
It's an epidemic...:-)
So in other words, Rove didn't know, but he heard about Plame from journalists, and then discussed this when asked by journalists.
"This" as WILSON HIMSELF CONFIRMED was that his wife got him sent to Niger while she WAS NOT COVERT.
This actually is a big story because it puts another piece in place, confirming Rove's position that reporters called HIM asking for confirmation--he did NOT shop the story around.
I've been back and forth about this all day but for me, at least--case closed.
DUmmies will be jubillant over this for the hour it takes to penetrate their concrete skulls. Then the buyer's remorse will settle in, and they'll realize Joe Wilson isn't their ticket to paradise.
Who told the reporters? That's the real question. Rove is not even a solid link in the chain.
Yeah, and everybody's reading it expecting some juicy Rove-implicating details and getting nothing 'cause there's nothing to get. Never has been. Drudge is crazy.
Crazy like a fox.......
It was taken today and included in the life of Pres. Bush thread.
BWAAAAAAAAAHAHAHA!
ROFL! Good point, kcvl! It's like, the 9-11 commission (leaks from the Dems side), all over again... I wonder if Venista is organizing this on behalf of the NYTimes...
You'll go blind if you do that too much.
Exactly right - There is NOTHING to this MSM staged "scandal" - It will be old news by August 1st - (and the MSM will simply have more egg on their face).
Bingo.
Drudge fixed the headline: "Novak asked Rove about CIA officer", so I guess the article did have some value in that it totally supports Rove's innocence in the matter
Buried in the middle............
"By itself, the revelation that Mr. Rove had spoken to a second journalist about Ms. Wilson may not necessarily have a bearing on his exposure to any criminal charge in the case."
Goodnight
