Stein is a comedian who has the knowledge and skills to make concise, rational, and compelling arguments. Garofalo constantly refers to herself (at least she used to) as an "enlightened intellectual" when she realizes she can't defend whatever claim it is that she's arguing.
In short, she's probably mad because he's intelligent, well-spoken, professional, articulate, and successful -- everything she's not.
