Thanks for the PING, King Prout. As I've said on about 3 different threads now, Judith Miller has a reputation of being a canary all around Washington, D.C. She is known for her propensity for singing, so she could very well be her own "source" and was too embarrassed to come clean, so chose to play the victim instead.
Miller has squealed before, tipped off Islamic "charities" that they were about to be raided, etc.
My guess is that she's a major player in all of this. She's probably the one who leaked the information to Scooter Libby who naturally would have passed it along to Karl Rove who still didn't know Plame's name, nor the fact that she had been under cover at one time, ending that gig in 1997.........and so forth.
What is utterly off-the-wall OUTRAGEOUS about this whole thing is that Rove was trying to assist Cooper, doing him a professional favor so that he wouldn't "go out on a limb" and make a fool of himself by printing a false story!

In its heyday (late 1980s?), Spy Magazine had a running "blind" item about an ambitious NYT girl reporter who got lots of inside stuff by "sleeping" with powerful politicians. It was clear to some of us that they were referring to Ms Miller.
The underlining irony of it all.
