The Constitution provides immunity of members of the House and Senate for remarks made on the floor or during official business (such as a hearing). I was watching the Bolton confirmation hearings - during which Bolton referred to "Mr. Smith" instead of using Mr. Armstrong's name - but Kerry, in immediate response uttered "Mr. Armstrong" on several occasions. These people cannot be trusted to deal with sensitive intelligence information.
I watched a bit of Joe Wilson's appearance with Schumer this afternoon and I have drafted the following White House response:
WHITE HOUSE OFFERS TO FIRE KARL ROVE
July 14, 2005 The White House - The President offered this afternoon to fire advisor Karl Rove over his involvement in the Valerie Plame episode, on the condition that several Senators and Representative that he considers noxious traitors resign first, have replacements for their respective seats appointed, and have their replacements sworn in before Rove is dismissed. The list of Senators and Representatives is:
