inasmuch as i simply quoted THE AUTHOR of the BOOK on the existence of the U-boat, which HE SAID was there, i think you're showing your STUPIDITY again.

SORRY, but that too is CORRECT.

i said at the time that i knew NOTHING more about the subject than what the BOOK said. consult the book YACHTS AGAINST SUBS for more.

don't you get tired of being the BUTT OF JOKES by smarter FReepers????

The book that doesn't exist? The one that you can cite by page number, and yet confess to not having a copy of? The one you say the University of Houston owns, but apparently doesn't list in their card catalog? The one that the Library of Congress doesn't have? The one that, in fact, no college library seems to have?

Type in the title in a Google search and you know what you get? One hit:

"Coast Guard Auxiliary Bibliography
Gnaedinger, LBN "Picket Patrol: Yachts Against Subs." Motor Boating & Sailing (Dec 1972), pp. 46-49. Gould, Robert C. "The Coast Guard Auxiliary. ... www.uscg.mil/hq/g-cp/history/Auxiliary_Bib.html - Similar pages"

So, Stand Pinocchio, when you try to shift the blame for that lie onto another source, you only reveal another lie. There is no book called "Yachts Against Subs." There's a four-page magazine article in a boating magazine.
