Modernman, do you include me among people who would like to lynch African Americans if they could? Either you do, or you don't. Which is it?

If you and your fellow neo-confeds were able to get your own country, I think that you would. Not necessarily because they were black, but because many black people in the South would be actively opposed to the idea of living in a revived CSA. In fact, I think you'd be more than happy to use violence against anyone living in such a new nation who opposed its secession from the US.

It's good you dropped the anti-black racism aspect of your charge that I'd like to lynch people. Because, as post #1195 shows, you don't know my race. It could be anything. OK, I see that your ideas are opinions based on assumptions of what I might be like. That's OK, everyone's entitled to opinions and it's human nature to have them. These might be based on false assumptions, so let's examine them.

1. "Not necessarily because they were black, but because many black people in the South would be actively opposed to the idea of living in a revived CSA." -- that assumes that an independent Southern nation would would be a restart of the CSA from right where it was in 1865, with no changes. It could not be the same. Many changes, physical and social, have taken place in the Southern states since 1865, and a new nation would reflect those changes. It would not necessarily be the CSA at all, since the CSA is long gone. Please see post #1200 again.

2. "In fact, I think you'd be more than happy to use violence against anyone living in such a new nation who opposed its secession from the US." -- For that to be true, I would have to be in favor of Southern secession from the US. That has not been established - I've never said that I am. In other discussions you've said you put stock in the scientific method -- so here you have an hypothesis you can test and either verify or discard. How? By my posting history. So post a clickable link to any post where I say I favor Southern secession from the US, or state that no such evidence exists. Then we'll talk about the rest.
