"Joran {{{wants}}} to talk to Natalee's dad"
"either he has a conscience or he wants to pass the buck"
My comment is, it is Dave Holloway who WANTS to talk to Joran. He tried to visit him in jail. He wants to look Joran in the eyes and see if Joran can look back and say straight out that he is innocent. Joran's mother claims that Joran is willing to see Dave now, but Joran's father says, nope, he will talk to you after the case is closed.
All of the pressure for them to talk is coming from Dave. Joran is not sitting around in jail thinking, oh, man, I want to talk to Natalee's dad. No way.
I keep one more thing in mind: the van der Sloots are a pack of liars. Whatever they SAY, I take it with a grain of salt.
So why would they say it?

I don't think Juran wants to talk with Dave Halloway, either. He said horrible things about Natalee, while possibly knowing she would never to able to defend herself. Like you, I have a hard time believing anything the VDS's say. Early on, I thought the Mom was maybe naive, but not anymore. She knows how things work in Aruba, imo.
Oh, OK. That makes more sense. However, sociopaths will be able to look you in the eye and lie like that, possibly even crying HUGE Scott Peterson tears, which wouldn't give Dave the answer he desperately seeks.
Mrs. VDS is in total denial (the mothers of these guys always are, look again at Scott P). The father is using all his legal expertise/connections to protect and cover for his son, and seems to know a lot more than he really should, if Joran is so innocent.
