They are spinning in their graves like Dervishes Mad Mammoth. I would bet that all three of them be a Republicans if they suddenly & magically returned now.
They were men of principle, and although I never agreed with all of their positions (although I pretty much endorsed everything Henry 'Scoop' Jackson believed in), they were three Democrats who still believed in that concept of "politics stopping at the water's edge". Unlike today's crop of seditionist 'Rats.
I agree with you that it is likely they would be Republicans today (with the possible exception of Truman, who had no love lost for the GOP, he might have just become an Independent), people forget sometimes that our late 40th President Ronald Reagan began his political life as a Democrat himself, and as he liked to say "I didn't leave the Democratic Party, they left me.", and it is the Democratic Party that has left America en toto.
