Based on the research I have conducted, the chats/debates/mud slinging that have taken place here at Free Republic, and the various sites, articles, and columns that I have read on this topic, I am now going to contact my congressperson and request a NO vote for CAFTA.

Does Cafta incorporate CODEX as american law? How are these two linked.

The documentary claims that in fact the CODEX will be included in the CAFTA agreements.

Check out the other threads on this topic...several of them refer to the actual cafta language...

The World Trade Organization is the true source of American Law being usurped by Codex, but how it ties into CAFTA is articulated very well on the documentary.

"Does Cafta incorporate CODEX as american law? How are these two linked."

From the World Net Daily article...

"Opponents of CAFTA point out the trade agreement contains a provision called the "Sanitary Phytosanitary Measures Agreement," which calls for signatory nations to "harmonize" their food regulations with those of the Codex Commission.

"Do you take vitamins and nutritional supplements? Do you want a synod of sickly Euro-socialists deciding which ones you can take, or whether you'll be able to take any of them at all? If your answers are 'yes' and 'no' – then take action NOW to stop CAFTA!" wrote William Norman Grigg in the New American.

Continued Grigg: "John C. Hammell of International Advocates for Health Freedom points out that the 'safety standards' imposed by the Commission in essence treat vitamins as potentially dangerous drugs, imposing 'Maximum Safe Permitted Levels' of potency that would make them practically useless."

Opponents believe the Codex regulations would supersede the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994, which gave American consumers who use supplements certain protections against government regulations.

Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, a CAFTA opponent, says the deal circumvents the Constitution:

"I oppose CAFTA for a very simple reason: it is unconstitutional. The Constitution clearly grants Congress alone the authority to regulate international trade. The plain text of Article I, Section 8, Clause 3 is incontrovertible. Neither Congress nor the president can give this authority away by treaty, any more than they can repeal the First Amendment by treaty. This fundamental point, based on the plain meaning of the Constitution, cannot be overstated. Every member of Congress who votes for CAFTA is voting to abdicate power to an international body in direct violation of the Constitution."

Does Cafta incorporate CODEX as american law? How are these two linked.

"The seeds of our health freedom destruction are sewn inside Section 6 of CAFTA where members are forced to form a Sanitary-Phytosanitary Measures (SPS) Committee for the purpose of insuring ONGOING HARMONIZATION of our laws under the terms of the SPS Agreement in the WTO Trade Agreement."

This is very sneaky. But it means, in short, that the USA would have to adopt nutritional standards approved by WTO. Those standards are set forth in Codex Alimentarius. Codex makes almost every vitamin supplement on the market illegal and requires that only minimum (and woefully inadequate) amounts of vitamins be sold over the counter...

According to International Advocates for Health Freedom (IAHF, an organization that has full information on their site: http://www.iahf.com/index3.html

And I quote: "A group led by Dr Rolf Großklaus (Chair of the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses) has just produced a (eugenics oriented) "risk assessment model" for deducing maximum safe levels of nutrients provided in supplements and fortified foods.

It's extremely important to understand that the Codex Commission has been funded in large part by Bayer, a German company, and other manufacturers of pharmaceuticals. .

The final "recommended maximum levels for food supplements" as recommended by Dr. Großklaus and his team, are as follows:

Vitamins
Beta-Carotene: 2-4 mg
Vitamin D: 5-10 µg
Vitamin E (equivalent): 15 mg
Vitamin K: 80 µg
Vitamin B1 : 4 mg
Vitamin B2 : 4.5 mg
Niacin: 17 mg
Vitamin B6: ?5.4 mg
Folic acid: 400 µg
Pantothenic acid: 18 mg
Biotin: ?180 µg
Vitamin B12: 9 µg
Vitamin C: 225 mg

Minerals
Sodium: 550 mg
Chloride: 830 mg
Potassium: 2000 mg
Calcium: 1200 mg
Phosphorus: 1250 mg
Magnesium: 400 mg
Iron: ?15 mg
Iodine: 200 µg
Fluoride: 3.8 mg
Zinc: 10 mg
Selenium: 70 µg
Copper: 1500 µg
Manganese: 5 mg
Chromium: 100 µg
Molybdenum: 100 µg

SUMMING UP: Codex, funded by pharmaceutical companies, is aimed at making vitamins, minerals, and other health enhancing products illegal on the open market. They will only be available by prescription and will only be manufactured by pharmaceutical houses. That's the financial aspect.

The other aspect of this dreadful plan is to weaken healthy populations--again, the pharmaceutical manufacturers (Big Pharma) will profit enormously when formerly nutritionally sound populations begin to suffer health breakdowns. Plus, the weakened population will become less able to resist world government.

In effect, Codex wants to make sure that Americans have nutritional levels roughly equal to that of Africans living in mud huts. No Thank you!

The solution is to immediately write to your congresspersons and tell them to vote NO on CAFTA. Immediately! Cafta is about to be passed.
