Same boat here. Done some H1B hiring back when the economy was better. My own personal screen was far more stringent than anything either the company or the government required. Still, most other managers are clueless. We've got jihadis and Red Communist Chinese (some fraction of which are no doubt spies) with inner sanctum access - to facilties, data, and intellectual property. No more need be written ...

Yep, if - or maybe I should say when - the sh*t hits the fan with China we are going to have a lot of internal sabotage. We've got a lot of tech people from the PRC working with critical systems and data in U.S. that are intensely nationalistic to the PRC and habor an underlying resentment or even hatred of the U.S. I have seen up close how things can be compromised and how easy it is to do so.
