Emily is now down to 992 and forecast to become a major hurricane within 48 hours. With the center reforming to the north, she will taking aim at Jamaica and the Caymans, similar to the track of Dennis.

She's getting very close to where Dennis started out. The ridge is forecast to be stronger this go around, so we shall see just how far north she can get. I still think she hits the Yucatan at some point, but we will have to wait and see if that will be the end of her.. or if she can manage to scoot between the Yucatan and Cuba. Storms that start at this latitude generally have a hard time coming north, but Dennis managed to, even without a strong trough. The real question will be the ridge currently centered off the TX coast. If that stays there, the chances of this storm hitting the U.S. are slim.
