Everyone I know who uses diesel claims it will go bad.

I have read and participated in some excellent diesel storage threads on other forums. Very few people seem to have encountered real problems, although most use fuel conditioners and stabilizers and everyone keeps plenty of filters on hand. Some people are of the opinion that bacterial over-growth can occur but it seems to be uncommon. Bactericides are available but I have never used one.

Thanks. I don't really see it as a big problem as I don't store much of it. When I had a lot of farm equipment, we used it fast enough that long term storage was never a problem.

I will get some spare filters thanks to the yours and others suggestions on this thread.
