Brit Hume just said that Karl Rove heard about Valerie Plame from "a reporter."
My bet is that Judith Miller was that reporter -- and now Miller is refusing to say WHO told her about Plame.
So we can deduce that whoever told HER hasn't signed a waiver and she's covering up for them.
It's a Democrat.
Re#17 Sure seems that way. Rat or a presstitute. As York notes, why the change of tune at the NY Slimes. Hmmmm...
""Brit Hume just said that Karl Rove heard about Valerie Plame from "a reporter.""
Does he have independent information, or is he relying on the reckless speculation of that poster Shermy again?
I think so too. Or else she wouldn't be sitting in jail if the source was Karl Rove since he signed the waiver over a year and a half ago. I think ole' Matt and Judith are in a predicament of their own making. lol! And so is the New York Times.
Mm hmm. Bet that's it. It certainly can't have anything to do with journalistic integrity. It's CYA and CDA all the way.
And by the way the left is hissing and spitting, likely a high level one.
Consider:
a. Judith Miller is a Washington-based reporter for the New York Times, specializing in WMD issues.
b. Valerie Plame is a Washington-based employee of the CIA, specializing in WMD issues. She also happens to socialize in circles frequented by the media.
My bet is that they knew each other. And I agree that Miller may well have been a source for others. And her source, in turn, was the wife of that renowned media hound, Joseph C. Wilson IV (if not Wilson...)
Indeed. I have heard that Walter Pincus, for one, was a cocktail party circuit buddy of Wilson/Plame.
I think Novak's source was somebody in the WH, probably a low-level person. He did say that his source was not particularly partisan.
My guess is that Judith Miller spilled the beans on Plame, as "everybody knew it" -- quite common knowledge in her circles, and it spread around the WH that "Wilson's wife" worked for the CIA. They didn't know her name and, frankly, didn't care. They were outraged that she managed to get her partisan husband on this silly trip.
It may be that Wilson was the genesis of all of this. He wasn't Novak's source, but he may have strutted around Washington, telling all of his friends how he became anti-Bush flavor of the month.
Makes perfect sense to me. She certainly wouldn't sit in jail to protect a Republican source, especially the dreaded Karl Rove.
Good thinkin' Howlin.
