Thanks, I thought it might be the same guy. I seem to recall some of his ultra-nationalist people falling afoul of the sword control laws there in the 90's. (For anyone thinking I'm kidding, I'm not. Japan has sword control.) Seems those old WWII habits are hard to cure...

As far as it goes, I think the majority of Japanese are not quite so blase about war crimes. They are fairly committed to pacifism any more; at the same time, they don't seem to be too willing to own up to what they did in WW2. I would think that's a cultural thing, possibly something to do with losing face (but that's just my conjecture--I'm an American-bound gaijin; what do I know?).
