Islamophobia blamed for attack
Guardian ^ | Wednesday July 13, 2005 | Vikram Dodd

A Muslim man has been beaten to death outside a corner shop by a gang of youths who shouted anti-Islamic abuse at him, the Guardian has learned.

Kamal Raza Butt, 48, from Pakistan, was visiting Britain to see friends and family. On Sunday afternoon he went to a shop in Nottingham to buy cigarettes and was first called "Taliban" by the youths and then set upon.

Nottinghamshire police described the incident as racially aggravated, not as Islamophobic, angering Muslim groups and surprising some senior officers.

It was not Islamophobic. He was beaten to death by anti-smoking liberals.

I wondered how long it would take for Paki-bashing to start again.......

"An eye for an eye, maybe."

You're saying this guy was one of the bombers? Otherwise you don't know what "eye for an eye" means.

They don't know what their own religion teaches, they only religion these sick bastards have is "kill the infidels".

This incident, deplorable as it is, fails to get me all exercised. I'm kind of tired of hearing how insecure and fearful the Muslims are over the supposed backlash in the aftermath of their latest attack. It's kind of empty-headed of them not to expect a certain amount of backlash, but no, they demand immunity and protection for themselves. I would be more sympathetic if their first concern was for their British friends, neighbors and host country.

Not sure what you mean. My response was to #6 which among other things says this about the guy beaten to death: "An eye for an eye, maybe." The implication being that the guy got what he deserved. Wrong. Collective guilt is for liberals. The guy wasn't one of the bombers. He didn't deserve to be beaten to death.

Exactly. Where are the marches, with thousands of muslims objecting to the violence and islamofascism?
Their first concern was their own welfare. Makes me mad.

I am of the belief that an 'eye for an eye' gets us nowhere important...we release tension...we feel righteous...but in the end we've become less...I live not far away from Crown Heights in Brooklyn where Yankel Rosenbaum was stabbed and killed because he was a Jew with a beard (as was an Italian grandfather with a beard pulled from his car and killed that same day)...his crime was to be in the wrong place at the wrong time...he had no way of knowing that an Hasidic funeral procession had just mowed down and crushed a 4 year old black child several blocks away...vengeance is not a viruous emotion and very often it harms innocent people IMHO.

And i agree with you. It is not "eye for an eye" when you take an innocent old man trying to buy a pack of smokes and then beat him to death for something that he didn't do.

Besides, most the bigots on this site CLAIM to be Christian's who should "turn the other cheek". It is they whose only unswervable religious conviction is "death to the unbeliever".

No, I don't believe this was an eye for an eye or that it was justified. I also don't believe it necessarily is a phobia either. It could be that some people who listen to the teaching Islam and the certain truths about its origin and intentions may feel stongly that Islam believes that if you are not a muslim you are not innocent. How many times have we heard "moderate" muslim's condemn the killing of innocent's. Well if there truly are no non muslim innocents then what are they really saying. Maybe they see a true conflict with Islam that can only be won the way islam see's it, with violence. Personnaly I am very diappointed at the deafening silence of muslims over these attacks. They have had very little to say until formally pressured. And any staement made seems to be politically motivated..IMO

Very interesting story. A Jewish guy gets killed by a mob, and we hear about it for years.

Some random Italian is murdered the same day, presumably for exactly the same reason, and nobody cares.

These are the same people who think the Crusades were an offensive campaign instead of a justified response to Islamic tyranny.

I suppose the same writers are among those who feel sorry for the people who committed suicide when those bombs went off and just happened to kill other innocent people nearby. I guess that was just collateral damage that was caused by a depressed few people that needed therapy and self esteem.

I think we should all adopt the Muslim tactic when hearing of terrorism-backlash incidents. Make a statement condemning it, quickly add we hope this doesn't incite anyone to more Islamic terror, then sit on our asses and not lift a finger to stop it.

Islamaphobia

Islamophoba is waking up in the morning and remembering the moment you open your eyes that yesterday a suicide bomber or two or three blew up either a convoy and killed a number of brave young soldiers or a line-up of Iraqi men waiting to enlist, or shot a woman at her front door because she belonged to the government or wrote a book in either Iraq or Iran, islamophobia is watching the news every night on television knowing that before it's over there will be a bus or a train or a truck or a pizza parlour or a hotel filled with ordinary people, passengers, customers, guests, women and children blown to pieces by a crazed muslim yelling allah-akbar just before his body disintegrates and his head flies into the air to sometimes land on the fifth floor as happened in Indonesia recently, islamophobia is knowing that beheadings are video taped and the tapes are sold as entertainment in islamic countries where no doubt the obligatory allah-akbar is shouted while the film is rolling, islamophobia is asking oneself how can it be that a cult which has been responsible for the death of countless millions, throughout the middle east, throughout europe, throughout Africa with one massacre after another making up its entire history since the date of its inception by a brigand, a pirate, a mass murderer whose first 'gloriously' recorded act was to assist in the decapitation of 800 Hebrew men at Medina and bury them in a mass grave whereupon he took possession of the village, it's women and chilren and real estate and described it as a gift from allah who wanted him, mohammad and his evil band of murderers to have it all as an 'inheritance' ... that's some of what islamophobia is. It's also knowing that arafat was related to the mufti of Jerusalem whose name was Husseini, who was an officer in the army of the Ottoman empire, who took part in the massacre of one and a half million Armenian Christians and Lord knows how many Greeks at Smyrna, while shouting allah-akbar no doubt, the same Husseini who later recruited the muslim death squads for hitler in the second world war, that Husseini, who became the mufti of Jerusalem, have you got that? Who in between lived in Baghdad and was instrumental in setting up the carbon copy nazi government that expelled hundreds of thousands of Jews and Christians from Iraq without compensation...because well, if it was ok for mohammad to steal someone else's real estate and rape their women it was fine for them to do. That's the same nazi style government that saddam inherited, you remember him, he gave arafat's suicide bombers twenty five thousand dollars a head (sick pun not intended) because after all, they were close, the mufti and Saddam and Arafat, it's a tradition...that's what islamophobia is...I just figured it out while I was writing this for my own entertainment...ISLAMOPHOBIA IS KNOWING HISTORY!

BUMP to Fred Nerks!!
