DICK GIDRON Has tax woes, too.
......disgraced former Bronx Democratic leader Dick Gidron reached rock bottom getting handcuffed and hauled into jail for allegedly running a petty trade-in scam out of his Yonkers dealership.
Testimony ....by an alleged $5,000 victim of the trade-in scam was enough for a Manhattan Supreme Court justice yesterday to order Gidron, 66, tossed into the clink...........
.....DA Kelly Donovan presented testimony......on whether, in running the alleged scam and falling some $12M behind in state sales taxes, Gidron violated terms of a 2002 sweetheart plea deal.
That deal, for admittedly dodging $1.6M in taxes, was to have kept him out of jail and under house arrest for three years, limiting his movements to his home, his job, his doctor and his church.
But for Gidron the one-time Caddy King who has shaken hands with Ronald Reagan, palled around with George Steinbrenner and thrown legendary Super Bowl parties at his Scarsdale mansion last night was his first ever night behind bars.
It will likely also be his first of many nights there. The violation of parole charges carry anywhere from 1-6 years prison. Already, Justice William Wetzel, who is presiding over the current hearing, has made clear which side is winning.
Wetzel, who presided at the 2002 tax-evasion case, chided Gidron for committing a trade-in scam that is "identical" to a scam he admitted to in his plea deal.
Under the scam, Gidron would lie that he was paying off outstanding car loans on trade-ins, and instead pocket the money for months, thereby damaging the credit ratings of the original owners.
Gidron lawyer Flora Edwards told Wetzel that all the loans in question, involving 55 trade-ins, have since been paid off. She attributed any delays to "errors, snafus and staff mistakes."

How stupid do you have to be to buy a car from a man who is back in the business because he cut a plea deal for tax evasion...?
Wow.
And a Dumbocrat, as well. Guy's a triple threat.
Well coffeed and with my gag reflex suppressed I went on a Dick Gidron hunt over at DU. Not surprisingly I can find no mention of this guy or his woes. I even went to the New York room.....nothing at all.
Didn't you read what his lawyer said? It was a staff mistake, not unlike all those Dems who are all of a sudden amending their travel records and the ones before them who were accidentally running huge overdrafts at the House Bank. They are human after all. Well, maybe the human part is going a little too far.
Sniffle.
Human. Mistake.
Sob.
