not only that - it was a total setup by Cooper and that's why he was reluctant to turn over the proof (in the form of the memo) and was afraid of giving up the goods by having to testify and thus confirm it was he - COOPER - who called Rove, not the other way around as it's being portrayed by all the LIARs in the media!

Exactly. The ABC guy - Terry Moran? - was claiming that Rove "peddled" (his exact word) the information to Cooper, directly implying that Rove sought out Cooper to explicitly plant the information about Plame.

True that!

The media knew that Wilson had lied about the report...and they ran with it...

so they needed some made up scandal to cover their own tracks.

I sense journalists going to jail. Gregory and Moran have been very irritated lately. MAYBE IT WAS THEM!

Yes, I think that you're right, Cooper was protecting the partisan nature of his reporting, rather than protecting the source. Cooper's testimony vindicates Rove, rather than inculpating him.

I don't understand why a smart man like Rove would even be thinking about protecting Time and what stories they write. So what if they got it all wrong about Joe Wilson. Let Time pay the penalty. Why would Rove even care what erronous stories Time prints? I think it is just too bad Rove said anything to a reporter and expect that reporter to respect his confidence. That's just too stupid.
