Am I reading that correctly? Are these attorneys really arguing that the media causes a mental disorder?

No they are not. What they are sayng is htat 9 of the women have bipolar disorder and that pressure. any intense pressure will cause the 9 women to become worse in their CON-dition's, which is Bipolar Disorder.
