McCain is actually going to be on OUR side on this one? Excuse me while I collect myself......Uh..Hmmm.....I suppose this is a good thing. Its been so long since McCain has been on our side that I forgot what it was like. Even in November he was on the fence for John Kerry.
I will grant him leave to change his mind and oppose W at some point during this whole process. I'm sure he will need it.

Do you really think so? If true that will be a change.

McCain isn't really a liberal, he just plays one on TV.
When it comes time to vote, he'll vote with us virtually all the time.
Not saying I like the man all that much, he's got an ego the size of the Titanic, but this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Heck, I am just holding my breath to see what this REALLY means.
I am pretty short on "trust" for Senator John.

Don't you think McCain will be on "our" side on the Supreme Court because he expects Bush to nominate Alberto Gonzales anyway? So, it's a freebie for McCain and his 2008 nomination prospects.

Even in November [McCain] was on the fence for John Kerry. No, he was not. He actively campaigned for President Bush.

I don't trust McCain in the least. I hope someone is watching Bush's back.

Perhaps he has been loyal to the other side so long they are starting to count on him---so he gets off on betraying them now.

McCain is a very narcissistic man. His words stem from the fantasy that he will be president some day and will get to nominate a Supreme. In his sick and twisted mind he thinks that if he is strong here the party will forget his betrayal and support him in 08 and also support any of his nominees. Since McCain is not a conservative, what other reason could there be for him to support a conservative appointment?

I do not think that is fair. McCain did campaign for President Bush. The gripe was that he would not criticize Kerry. That is why he is McCain and hard to take and would not be able to be nominated himself. But he was not "on the fence".

I don't trust him. I don't care WHAT he says NOW. He's a snake in the grass.
