McCain may be crazy but he's not stupid. He'll need to spend much or all of the next two years re-labeling himself as a card carrying conservative to stand any chance in the '08 primaries.
He might fool the "moderates" but he won't be able to fool the conservatives. There's a reason why our party's mascot is the elephant - conservatives don't forget.
We give McCain a lot of grief but he is decidely pro-life, and that will help us here. Democrats are going to look like the jerks they are for stonewalling and McCain will do a good job of making them look that way -- he is, after all, perceived to be very "fair"
