To: television is just wrong
While the nuclear threat against the US is growing steadily every year, this article is full of holes and poor guess work.

For instance, this line "Russian special forces Spetznaz to assist the terrorist group in locating nuclear weapons formerly concealed inside the U.S. by the Soviet Union during the Cold War...."

While I suppose it is possible that Soviet Spetznaz units planted warheads in the US during the cold war, I seriously doubt that any of these devices would be operable today. These things require routine maintenance. While I suppose these devices could probably be overhauled and refueled, such a procedure would require some serious expertise, and would be difficult to undertake in the US without being discovered.

I cannot refute the allegations made in this article anymore than the author can prove them, but he harms his credibility a number of times within this article.

It is a scenario that must be planned for.

Maybe they have already set a few of them off and they were duds.

I agree that this whole scenario must be considered, especially the idea of multiple bombs going off at the same time. I say this because the enemy would have to know that they'd get one chance and one alone before we'd unleash nightmarish retaliation. A hit like this on us would be their only chance at really hurting us before we went seriously nuclear on them.

Do I think that this is a serious possibility? No, but I agree that we need to be prepared for any eventuality from people who have no regard for human life and a deep, abiding hatred of us and freedom.
