Does the Left support our military? They may be patriots but when it comes to the honesty of their position about what our troops are doing in Iraq, it leaves a lot to be desired. We might not question the Left's love of our country but we can certainly take issue with their attitude towards our troops. It lacks sincerity.

If the left was really honest they would say "I hate being out of power, Bush took that power. To get it back I hope we lose in Iraq so the rest of the country will vote us back into power". It's not the military, or war, or Iraq they hate. It's not even Bush. They hate not being in power and being able to shape the world to their demented thinking.

Saw a Bumper Sticker today that said, "The Germans Supported Their Troops Too." With a crossed out yellow ribbon pictured next to the words. (Los Angeles)

He is probably in college and very popular with the professors.

"But most of the Left does not want the troops to win in Iraq."

Dennis certainly nailed it here! They loathe our military, and everything they stand for. Being the dishonest crooks that they are, they lie to the populace and claim to Support the Troops.

They would like nothing better than to turn this war into another VietNam and a political defeat for America. They want desperately to disgrace America. Yes, these are the same folks that Blame America First. We know this crowd well!

A third example is the Left's opposition to military recruitment on most of the elite and many other college campuses. So deep is leftist disdain for troops that most on the Left regard the mere presence of military personnel on a university campus as a form of contamination. Yet, the Left claims to "support the troops."
If Hillary is the Democratic nominee, I want her to be challenged to make a commercial for the Army recruiting office. Let's hear the applicant for commander-in-chief audition for the role!

One thing for a Clinton to be in the White House when the Cold War had just ended, and there was logic to the idea of reducing the Armed Forces. Now even Democrats, on alternate days, say we need to send more troops to Iraq. Where's the beef? Let's hear Hillary challenge our young men to volunteer for dangerous duty!

To me when the left says ''We support the troops'' it's the same thing as Hillary and Bill holding the Bible and walking into a church. Im sorry but its a crock! It's what they think they should say. I still remember the Army coming to my college during the Vietnam days and all the kids spitting and screaming baby killers!Thats what the left really thinks but you'll never hear em say it, they're too smart for that!

The lefts hole card is dishonesty. And they're dealing it from the bottom of the deck.

Talked with a retired college librarian and wife who said they supported the troops but against the war. So when the Army son of one of those in the group came in and was asked to tell of his experiences in Iraq, they left.

When lefties say they "support" the troops, what they mean is that they want them to never fight under a Republican President.

While I suspect that many lefties do hate our troops simply not supporting the mission doesn't equate to lack of support for our troops.  I totally opposed and still oppose our involvment in Yugo.  However, I still supported the troops, not only by hoping that they're not injured, but by sending care packages, things like that.
I think there's a better way to make the argument proving the left hates the military.  I'm just not sure what it is.
