You have to wonder how many people who walked by that cooling tower and who have the same symptoms and no medical insurance may also have Legionnaires Disease and die as result thereof. Some seriously ill people will do anything to avoid medical bills when they risk losing their homes, cars, etc. to pay the hospital bills, especially if they have no close friends or relatives to urge them to seek medical attention.
As one without medical insurance, I can tell you that you do not get on first name terms with your doc.
Most will die and never know that it was not the flu.
