The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Hmm, that's interesting to note.

I wonder what the moon phase in other past attacks was.. I added the list of past attacks to the TM handbook, would be interesting to check back on some of them.

I just cant fathom what is in the minds of these "suicide bombers". What are the chances they didn't know they were carrying bombs but instead they were making deliverys for someone? And they were detonated w/o the knowledge of these guys with the backpacks . . . NAAAAAH

Like you, I'm torn between crackpot and real threat. Since he landed a session with Tancredo, I'm leaning more towards the latter. However, 40 nukes is a bit over the top. Since many of the terrorists' mentors/bombmakers are quite skilled and educated and have that Pakistani and probably Russian connection, I don't doubt that they have some sort of nuclear device. I think the threat falls in the category of improvised devices combined with chemical and radiological and maybe biological materials. I'm thinking also, that these four were some sort of a test. I mean, 50 suicide bombers (if they have them) could have certainly done a lot more damage underground than just the 4 they used. Why take out 50 people when millions ride the NYC subways. Either this is a test run for something big or this is all they have (right now).

No, and they don't appear to care too much about the al-arian trial in Florida either. What they do care about is throwing mud at Rove, GWB, and that old stand-by -- the war on terror but only when it comes to our evil soldiers "torturing" (big cough) suspected islamic killers, though.

We should consider ourselves so lucky that days go by and we dont hear bombings on a regular basis. Our parents, their parents. Sitting in a park with a beer listening to the birds, go feed some ducks. I think I made a plan for today. :)

Task Force Baghdad Soldiers arrest two terror suspects

BAGHDAD , Iraq - Task Force Baghdad Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor Regiment captured two terror suspects after stopping a grey BMW on a major highway in west Baghdad July 12.

The car matched the description of a vehicle used by an anti-Iraqi forces mortar team during an attack July 11.

When the Soldiers searched the car they found almost 2.5 million Iraqi dinar and 27 U.S. $100 bills. Nine of the bills were sequentially numbered. Both of the suspects also had several fake pieces of identification, each with a different name, and multiple passport sized photos.

Traces of explosives were also discovered in the car.

I agree, I think they are not going to need a nuke (one nuke and it is all over end of time IMHO) or bomb, from the sound of things they are just going to blow up themselves all across the country. 40,000 suicide bomber's is more than enough to shut down the country and then another 9 million muslines and I believe everyone of them is a radical (who do not value life).

How many American people are prepared to defend themselves? I know in my own family my mother and sister will lay down and die then have a nervous breakdown.

There is a large possibility they have a/and/or nuke(s) and if they set one off, what can we do nuke Syria, Iran, and while we are at it go and get N. Korea the world is destroyed.

I am the most concerned NOW, than I have ever been, it could happened at anytime. This is a masterful chess game and it is the terrorist move.
