If any child comes in with a diagnosis of ADHD or the like, I assume:
1) Bad parenting
2) Bad doctoring
3) Bad teaching
4) Bad medicating
5) The diagnosis/treatment is correct.
This diagnosis is usually an attempt to excuse and mollify the inadequacies of the adults that raised the child.

I know what you mean..
I have taught special ed for years...MOST (but NOT ALL) of my students who are labeled "learning disabled" should really be labeled PARENTALLY DIABLED...
Give them some structure and teach them!
They mostly did really well.
That being said...I have my OWN 5 year old at home who is as energetic as they come..
I AM SURE someone is going to bring up medication for this kid...SURE OF IT...and his father and I have already agreed that he is a regular kid who has LOTS OF ENERGY!!!
I am hopeful because the principal is a man I know (good man) who grew up in Catholic schools..
I am HOPING that he will be strict with my son and make sure that he has to "Tow the line"...but treat him respectfully.
IE...energy is GREAT...take it outside!
We'll see... in a little less than 2 months...
