Your point was well taken........and I always preferred evening Mass in the summer when I was growing up.

But I've got an even better excuse for not being in Church - I broke my ankle Friday and can barely get around on crutches - let alone drive :)

I do that during football season. I've had season tickets to the Oilers/Texans for several years. (OK, I've missed a season and coming up on missing another...)

You can't buy beer on Sunday mornings in Texas, so I always had to get beer for the tailgate parties the evening before.

So I'd be pulling out of the church parking lot after Saturday evening Mass, thinking, "Let's see...I need to stop and get beer, cigarettes...oh, and a Lotto ticket..."

Kind of incongruous, huh? ;-)
