Gonzales would be a double cross from a President who I admire much, but who would drop in stature among the base. That's right. Bush DID make a promise. His whole Presidency is based on the premise that he "says what he does and does what he says." He can have no credibility left and a guaranteed legacy as a failed President if he breaks his promise, especially on an issue people will remember for decades.
