Gee, now they're spreading absorbant dirt around the infield. Don't they own a tarp in Atlanta?
winds now offically 125 MPH
Ah ha...
they are probably loving this at MacDill. I used to work at CENTCOM and was over in Iraq for all 4 of the Hurricanes last year. Gotta love it being 2-7 ft above sea level right? :)
You better check your radar again. It solid red over us now.
MY GOD, VINAL!!!!! That's HORRIBLE!!!! Can't you build a basement, or something?
Ask them if they can stop by Atlanta and drain my basement. The damn thing is still in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico and we're getting hammered here. Just kidding. Tell them all thanks.
Who was the pitcher? I've been following one of their new pitchers, the Davies kid (he's a friend of a friend.)
TWC just said winds are 125 MPH - so strong Cat 3 at this time.
On thread #2 or #3 we were joking on Bastardi. He has been yelling about New Orleans for days, even when it seemed ridiculous to do so. So, that's what I was chuckling about.
I have Canadian friends in Cuba for a wedding today (Saturday). No reports. It should be interisting. They have planned this for over a year. (The wedding, not the hurrcane).
Mike, are you camping out in the path, too???
if they are going to issue one...
if it hasnt strengthened anymore, and I will be REALLY surprised if it doesnt, then they may just issue an update on the public advisory...
I read the discussions so that is what I really go by in terms of what they are thinking for intensity changes....
It's okay, I understand. I'm just so mad at the stupid mayor of New Orleans. My friends live in a flood-prone area and were planning to head north today. The idiot mayor said everybody should stay put because they weren't going to have any problems. How the heck does he know?
Last night they flew some planes off MacDill...I heard that on the news.

Is it heading for New Orleans now?
nope I am nice and safe up here in Ohio....
for at least another 24 hours I am going to be pretty glad I didnt have a position in Tampa waiting for me when my deployment was done...
:)
Nothing will bring tears of relief to storm refugees more than seeing the convoy of cherry pickers moving down the highway to assist--especially the ones with out of state tags. I'm not joking--it makes everyone get the big lump in the throat, and blurry eyes. Have seen them many, many times.
What happens to vinyl siding in a Cat 4 storm? Just curious.
Nothing but green coming up I-75 now, and it looks like it stops around Griffin.
We should get a breather.
